Creightons was founded in 1953. It created a number of proprietary brands, although it focused mainly on private label and contract manufacturing. It became a PLC and was listed on the London Stock Exchange in 1994 before transitioning to the AIM Market in March 2025.
In June 2019 the Group bought the Balance Active Formula brand. In the year ended March 2022 the Group completed the acquisition of the Emma Hardie and Brodie & Stone businesses.
Our History
1749/
In 1749 physic gardeners, Ephraim Potter and William Moore, who specialised in the cultivation of lavender, founded the oldest English toiletries company in Mitcham, Surrey.
1749/
They set up a distillery to extract lavender oil – during the 1500s the growing of lavender was an important industry that continued for many years, before Queen Victoria made lavender fragrance popular during her reign.
1954/
Creightons was established in 1954 and developed a reputation for producing premium Health and Beauty products.

1994/
The company joined the London Stock Exchange to become Creightons Plc in 1994. It became one of the first brands in the UK to take on Brunette and Blonde haircare.
2003/
In 2003 Creightons Plc purchased Potter & Moore, combining centuries of health and beauty expertise with trend-led premium beauty products.
2016/
In 2016 the Group acquired the business and assets of the Broad Oak Toiletries site in Tiverton, Devon, further increasing manufacturing capability and capacity.
2019/
In June 2019 the Group bought the Balance Active Formula brand, adding its portfolio of products focused on proven ingredients at realistic prices.
2022/
In the year ended March 2022, the Group completed the acquisition of the Emma Hardie and Brodie & Stone businesses.
