What We Do

The Group’s operations are broadly organised into three business streams

  1. Our own branded business which develops, markets, sells and distributes products we have developed and own the rights. The portfolio of brands include those which have been  internally conceptualised and developed such as; Feather & Down, and The Curl Company and those which have been acquired which includes Balance Active Formula, Emma Hardie and TZone.
  2. Private label which focuses on high quality retailer label products for major high street retailers and grocery chains. We provide a range of solutions from concept, design formulation development, packaging sourcing, full service manufacturing, technical compliance, stock management/forecasting and distribution.
  3. Contract manufacturing, which develops and manufactures products on behalf of third-party brand owners and are typically manufactured to order.

Each of these business areas are supported by dedicated commercial, sales and product /marketing teams, with creative, planning, sourcing, financing and administration centralised in Peterborough.

Manufacturing, research and development and logistics operations run from both Peterborough and Tiverton sites.

Our Sector

The beauty products sector principally encompasses products for haircare, skincare, bath & body, male grooming and fine fragrance.

The market is relatively mature although it’s constantly evolving as brands seek to differentiate their offering in order to generate sales opportunities. This has resulted in some sector fragmatentation, for example, with haircare products developed to treat different hair types and conditions. Whilst adding some complexity, this segmentation creates additional opportunities for our business.

Consumers purchase our products through a range of retail and digital outlets, from high quality department stores to value driven discounters, with the High Street supermarkets and drug stores in the middle.

A significant amount of the Group’s products are sold in the UK, although we also sell overseas, either direct to retailers or through distributors.

The Group purchases its raw materials and components from an extensive range of suppliers in the UK and internationally and has built up a significant contact network to keep up to date with prices and market developments. We have a skilled team of employees working throughout the supply chain, including procurement, technical, manufacturing and logistics. See our Careers page for current vacancies.

All products the Group manufactures conform to EU regulation No. EU 1223:2009 and the equivalent UK regulations, which applies to toiletries and cosmetic products and our manufacturing sites hold appropriate accreditations to conform to this regulation.
